Transitional Housing 

Kairos Faith Sisterhood and Champions are currently in the process of acquiring a home to serve as a women's residence, providing a safe and nurturing environment for young women to heal and rebuild their lives. A separate residence for men with similar benefits is also in the works.

• Both homes will feature:  spacious kitchen

• Beauty salon or barber shop for volunteer hairdressers and barbers to create stylish looks and boost    self-esteem.

• Classes on hair styling for a long-lasting impact 

• Laundry room and two bathrooms with showers 

• Sister's closet and brother's closet for job interviews and special occasions 

• Recreational space for arts, crafts, and computer activities 

• Cozy living room area for unwinding 

• Spacious backyard for social events 

• Quiet room for yoga, meditation, or reading 

• Bedrooms for personal belongings

• The requested funding will enhance mentorship programs, life skills workshops, and housing assistance for struggling families and domestic violence survivors in New Jersey.

• Funds will support counseling services, education, and job placement to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and break the cycle of violence.

• These homes will serve as transitional residences to prepare individuals for independent living.

• Graduation ceremonies will signify readiness for independent living after completing the transition program.

• Participants must attend school or job training and engage in scheduled events for personal growth.

• Everyday experiences at KFS&C homes are designed to nurture individuals towards personal development and growth.

 

Many of these individuals have never been taught how to groom themselves or feel beautiful. Imagine being a young adult with scars and trauma, entering the world without direction, and feeling lost and traumatized.
